The Bangkok Art & Culture Centre, or BACC as it is more commonly known, is a hub for art and culture in the heart of Thailand's capital. It houses an array of exciting exhibitions, interactive galleries and engaging events which showcase the city's vibrant art scene.
Since its opening in 2007, BACC has become one of the most popular attractions in Bangkok, playing home to a wide array of world-renowned artists and visiting performers. The centre has six floors of exhibition spaces, each dedicated to a different type of art form including visual art, design, architecture and photography. Visitors can explore galleries featuring works from leading contemporary Thai artists while also discovering pieces by international creators and some curious artifacts from around the world. There’s also a library which contains more than 20,000 books devoted to culture and art literature.
In addition to its various galleries and library resources, BACC also offers regular workshops through its "learning centre". Here professionals teach the basics of various artistic practices such as painting, drawing and sculpture along with language classes for those looking to enhance their understanding of Thai culture. On top of this there are regular talks from local experts on topics related to Thai heritage as well as special screenings at its very own cinema hall.
All these activities are held in the beautiful garden courtyard which serves as an outdoor performance space during concerts hosted by the cultural centre. Regardless if you’re an artist looking for inspiration or just someone interested in learning about Thailand’s rich culture; Bangkok Art & Culture Centre is certainly worth visiting!
