What this plan covers
Phuket for couples works well if you like a day of coastal lookouts followed by an island outing and indoor stops. Day one moves from Kata Viewpoint to Khao Khad View Tower, finishing at Promthep Cape for sunset views when skies are clear. Day two pairs Banana Beach with Phuket FantaSea and Aquaria Phuket, so check the aquarium hours before fixing the evening. Arrange the boat outing and return first; keep time by the water and at viewpoints adaptable to the weather. Kata Beach, Bang Tao Beach and Patong Beach are the three base areas to compare.
Opening hours, prices and routes can change, so check the details before you set off.

Three crescent-shaped bays—Kata Noi, Kata Yai and Karon—unfold below the viewpoint, with Poo Island nearby. It is a scenic first stop for taking in Phuket’s coastline from above.
Good to know
From Kata Beach, follow Highway 4233 for about 5 kms; the viewpoint is on the right. The local Kata-Karon bus runs from the main market; use it to reach the viewpoint if starting in town.

Khao Khad View Tower
Viewpoint
1 hour
Khao Khad Viewpoint is in Wichit Sub-District, Muang District, near Makam Bay and Panwa Bay. Wichit Sub-District Administrative Organization built it as a place to view Phuket. A panoramic island view brings another angle on Phuket, including Kata Noi, Kata Yai and Karon bays. Take a pause here before continuing south to the coast.
Good to know
Reach the tower by staircase. There is no local bus; access is by car or motorcycle via Sakdidej Road and the small road before Panwa Cape. From Kata Viewpoint, it is about 24 minutes by taxi or ride-hailing car, longer in traffic.
Getting to Promthep Cape
34–50 min by car · 20.1 km · depends on traffic

Promthep Cape
Viewpoint
1 hour
At Phuket’s southernmost tip, this high rocky cape looks out over the sea and is known as a sunset-viewing place. Save time to enjoy the changing light if the sky is clear.
Good to know
Views are better on clear, sunny days, so adjust this outdoor stop to the weather. From Khao Khad View Tower, it is about 25 minutes by taxi or ride-hailing car, longer in traffic.
Ko Hae is an island in Phuket province. The stop is named Banana Beach, Ko Hey, identifying the island setting named in this stop. The wider Hey Island is known for its coral reef and fine sandy beach, making time by the water a change of pace from the island's viewpoints. Water sports and diving are available on He Island.
Good to know
Speedboats to Hey Island are available at Chalong Pier. Confirm with the operator that the trip serves Banana Beach, and check current ticket prices before booking. Start at Chalong Pier, where speedboats to Hey Island are available; confirm that your operator’s trip serves Banana Beach.
The cultural theme park stages a song-and-dance spectacular with acrobatics, lighting and set design, bringing tales of history and mythology to life. Its theatre and festival village add more to see beyond the show.
Good to know
Arrange tickets and check current show details before setting the evening; the festival village has games and handicrafts, as well as dining. Coordinate the boat return and onward transport from the island with your operator before heading to Kamala Bay.
Getting to Aquaria Phuket
28–41 min by car · 18.8 km · depends on traffic
6
Aquaria Phuket
Culture
2 hours
The aquarium studies more than 150 freshwater and seawater animals. Its Fish Tunnel and fish-feeding demonstration give you a close-up indoor stop after time outdoors.
Good to know
Open every day from 08.30 a.m. to 16.30 p.m.; check before you go. From Phuket Town, local buses to Makam Bay leave from the main market. From Phuket FantaSea, it is about 20 minutes by taxi or ride-hailing car, longer in traffic.
Two days can cover the three coastal viewpoints, an island outing and two indoor attractions, but the schedule depends on the boat return and Aquaria Phuket’s hours. Keep the first day for the lookouts and leave outdoor time flexible if the weather changes.
What should you arrange or check first?
Arrange the boat outing to Banana Beach and confirm the return plan with the operator before setting the rest of day two. Check current ticket arrangements and show details for Phuket FantaSea, then fit Aquaria Phuket around its stated opening hours.
What should you wear and bring?
Bring water and weather protection for the outdoor viewpoints and time on the water. Check the forecast before heading out, and notice red flags before swimming at major Phuket beaches, including Kata.
How do you get around Phuket for these stops?
The viewpoints are connected by road; the listed legs are about 24 minutes from Kata Viewpoint to Khao Khad View Tower and about 25 minutes onward to Promthep Cape by taxi or ride-hailing car, longer in traffic. Speedboats to Hey Island are available from Chalong Pier.
Where should you stay for this route?
Compare Kata Beach, Bang Tao Beach and Patong Beach. Kata Beach has 298 stays within 1 km, Bang Tao Beach has 80 and Patong Beach has 522. Choose by the area you want to base yourself in, then check availability for your dates.
