  : The breakfast was great - because I'm working US hours the staff was able to deliver the complimentary breakfast to my room in the afternoon which was a nice touch. The pool area is nice.
  : The music at the pool area was not great, and a little too loud. Same in the gym, I wish I could adjust it.

  : One of the staff in the check-in lobby acted a bit weird and started questioning my card authentication even though I provided my passport details and showed my card over the counter. He checked the card details and made sure the card was used to book in booking. Com. He verified if it matched or not. It was fair to be careful and we deposited some money they asked using my wife's credit card.Things turned more absurd and awkward when he came and asked me if he could use my debit card (the one used in the booking. Com)to debit THB 1 and make sure it would be void. He said this is to make sure the card works and the card owner is real. And I explained to him that the booking cost was already debited from my bank account so there was nothing to worry about. First of all, the fact that I had to explain that I was not committing any fraud was already humiliating and second, he tested my card debiting THB 1 was outrageous. This made me super uncomfortable.I was confused and asked myself if this was real or if I was just not understanding the situation.I have traveled frequently and I have never been asked to prove if my card works even though I already made the payment. When asked he told us, "One time a guest checked in and a few days later the card owner called and said he never stayed there". Here he is judging my identity and thinking I am some kind of fraud or a con man. His judgment is still bothering me and I think this is some kind of harassment. My origin is South East Asian origin and the staff looked like he was Caucasian.I felt that I should not make a scene and put priority on my wife and me having a pleasant last day in BKK to celebrate my birthday.Whether or not he was intentionally being racist or just trying to humiliate me, one should know that these actions are very sensitive to some people and can cause mental torture.
